C.S. Mott Children's
Hospital, University of Michigan
The University received a $25
million grant to replace C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, a 40-year
old facility that serves children from around the world. Working with
the University and Barton Malow, Ruby+Associates developed a design modification
to replace the concrete core with a steel core, reducing field time and
maintaining the project schedule. Working with Midwest Steel, Ruby also
designed the bracing/shoring system to erect a 36 foot deep, 150 foot
clear span truss in its specified cambered shape.
